About Me
Welcome to my webpage! My name is Megan Kapp and I am an English Education Major and prospective teacher. I was born and raised in Jamestown, North Dakota and I graduated from Jamestown High School in 2012. I have been attending University of Mary for the past three years, pursuing my degree in English Education.
Inspiration
I had two fantastic teachers when I was in the sixth grade. Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy taught a creative writing course at the Arts Center, and they pushed every single student to succeed. They took our ideas seriously (and some of those ideas were ridiculous) and encouraged us to read and write constantly to keep growing as writers. To me, they were everything a teacher should be: Firm, encouraging, creative, and trustworthy. I've met many other wonderful teachers, but the Kennedys were the first teachers I remember inspiring me to get to where I am today.
Interests
I spend a great deal of time reading. I especially enjoy fantasy and historical fiction, because I love experiencing different worlds, real or fictional. I also love writing. I write what I read: Fantasy and historical fiction are my favorite stories to read, and they are my favorite stories to tell. I hope that I can share my love for reading and writing with my students and help them develop their own enthusiasm for the written word, whatever genre or media they may choose.
